Dell XPS 13 9370

Do you find yourself at your computer for hours at a time? When you are not at home, you take your laptop with you?

Everything I do on my laptop has to be efficient and portable. I can’t afford to not have the best laptop to write. I have found what I believe to be the perfect laptop for any entrepreneur writer. But I will be honest with you. I am not a computer expert. I do know what would work well for me and would like to share that with you.

I have spent many hours researching this laptop, so you and I have what is needed to do the very best work.

Why a Dell XPS 13 9370?

I am a writer, a blogger, a poet, and an entrepreneur. With all of these hats, I need a laptop that is portable, lightweight, strong battery life, good storage, and a backlit keyboard.

I went in search of the one laptop that had all of the specifications I would need to do my work anywhere. I am sure you know as a writer your mind will come up with random thoughts for a story or a poem at any given time. It is so important to have a keyboard at my fingertips to jot these thoughts down.

This Dell XPS 13 9370 is the laptop that fits my needs. Right now you may be asking why the 13 and not the 15. The dell 15 weighs in at 4.6 pounds, and the Dell 13 weighs just under 3 pounds. For me, that throws the Dell 15 out the door.

Onto my Dell XPS 13 9370 reviews. I am so excited to share with you.

What I like about the Dell XPS 13 9370

  • Infinity edge screen that feels like the picture is popping out at you
  • 12 hours of battery life
  • Super fast loading and action
  • Lightweight at under 3 pounds
  • backlit keyboard for working in the dark

What I don’t like

  • The webcam in the center bottom of the screen makes it more difficult to get a center headshot
  • Due to the sleeker design, Dell deleted the USB type-A ports

I have always owned a Dell. They have served me well and lasted a very long time. Each laptop becomes outdated long before I have issues with it. The Dell XPS 13 9370  is lightweight and very portable. It will fit in any carry on or backpack for a flight. It is easy to store away in the car when traveling. Or use it at home in whatever room you choose.

It is crazy fast and with a long battery life of 12 hours. And it is backlit for ease of seeing the keys in dim or no light. The keypad is sensitive, light and easy to operate.

You may have some questions. I am happy to assist you in finding the answer that you need.

  1. hi Laura

Love this post and love Dell computers as well

I love the specs on yours and might have to come back when I’m ready for my upgrade as I too spend a lot of time writing and working online and you definitely need a great machine to keep you working without problems

What is the battery life like on your one?

I found mine to last for a really great length as I work remotely a lot as well and it is so annoying when batteries go flat

    Thanks for this great review

    Have bookmarked to come back

    • Hi Vicki, This is a great machine. So lightweight. The battery life is 12 hours. My old Dell had a whopping 2 hour life. I’m pretty excited about this one

The highest battery life of most any laptop now is 16 hours. So 12 hours is really good.

I know you will love this Dell XPS 13  9370. If you need assistance please let me know.

      Laura

  2. Hello Laura,

Like you I also work and I take my laptop with me. For the features that I see, I congratulate you because you have bought a very powerful notebook with an excellent processor and a large memory capacity. What Windows do you plan to install? Windows 10 would be a very good option for you. Regards!

    Claudio

    • Claudio, It sounds like you have a lot more knowledge on this laptop so thank you for commending me on my choice. I do do have windows 10 and use chrome as by browser.

  3. I like how this laptop is very portable friendly, will this be helpful for like say a video blogger? Because i saw that the camera position its pretty much in a awkward position to get a proper head shot. But it seems it does the job for people who likes to write a lot.

    • Erick, I would recommend an external webcam or a gaming laptop to get the best videos. You could get the Dell xps 13 9370,  since you like the portability and hook up an external webcam. Now that sounds like a plan.

  4. I am in dire need of a new laptop and one of my criteria is definitely a SSD, I really wouldn’t consider buying a laptop going forward without one.  This looks like a pretty powerful computer for such a compact machine.  Of course you do pay a premium for the speed and sleek profile that this Dell laptop offers.  I know it says the batter has a 12-hour life, and so many computers claim to have long battery life. Is it going to last for 12 hours with heavy use?  Also, is the battery built-in, or can it be replaced when it dies?  Thanks for all the specs and a thorough review!

    • Steve, the battery has been tested under the highest energy settings and has passed the test for 12 hour run time. I do know there are some laptops that run for 16 hours now. But they were not meet my needs for a high action, fast paced. light weight laptop.

Yes the battery is replaceable. Here is a link on how to replace it. https://www.ifixit.com/Guide/D…

It sounds like the Dell XPS 13 9370 would meet your need also. How exciting is that?

  5. Nice review Laura!

I switched to a laptop about 10 months ago after many, many years using a desktop (as well as going through 3 different ones) and feel I made the right choice! It was an even better investment because I work from home and I am always going to need to be online. They are much more portable than lugging around a desktop and monitor (I’ve done that too many times!) and makes working a lot easier.

I went with a Dell but another model although the Dell brand has always been great to me. I usually don’t have anything bad to say about their computers so I always go back!

    • Brandon, I agree with you. I can’t imagine carrying around a desk top PC. Dell does make a sound and solid laptop. And they make different models to meet the needs of many. I just can’t believe how lightweight this Dell XPS 13 9370 is and still have so much power.
